Shrikant Vishwakarma is an Indian writer, researcher, and storyteller with over 14 years of professional experience in the Indian film and television industry. With a background in History and a deep interest in Indian mythology, ancient traditions, fantasy, and historical storytelling, he has worked extensively on stories inspired by India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
Shrikant began his professional journey in Mumbai as an Assistant Director in 2005 before moving into screenwriting and research. Over the years, he has contributed to a wide range of television and film projects across mythology, history, fantasy, crime, and family entertainment. His credits include Chandrakanta, Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram, Parshuram, Paap Nashini Ganga, Sankat Mochan Hanuman, Akbar, Vardat, Savdhan India, Bhanwar, Crime Alert, and Ghoonghat Wali Chudail, among others.
His work combines extensive research with imaginative storytelling. For mythology-based projects, he draws upon classical Indian sources such as the Puranas, Ramayana, Mahabharata, and other traditional texts, while also developing fictional characters, conflicts, and fantasy worlds for contemporary audiences. His particular strength lies in transforming complex mythological and historical ideas into engaging narratives with strong emotional and dramatic elements.
Shrikant is also the author of Chhota Vikram Aur Baal Betal, a fantasy-mythological novel published on Amazon Kindle. KAHANI CHANDRAKANTA KI

Kahani Chandrakanta Ki was a fantasy television series that premiered on Sahara One on 6 June 2011 and ran until March 2012. Produced by Sunil Agnihotri, the series was inspired by Devaki Nandan Khatri’s celebrated fantasy novel Chandrakanta Santati.
The series returned viewers to the magical world of Chandrakanta, filled with royal intrigue, love, betrayal, warfare, secret alliances, shape-shifting aiyyars and supernatural elements. Unlike the earlier Chandrakanta story, the narrative moved into the next generation, focusing particularly on Yuvraj Inderjeet Singh, the son of Chandrakanta, and Rajkumari Kishori, the daughter of Maharaj Shiv Dutt. Their relationship unfolds against the backdrop of an old family rivalry and a struggle for power between kingdoms.
The series featured a large ensemble cast including Shikha Swaroop, Puneet Issar, Vindu Dara Singh, Rajendra Gupta, Mamik, Kruttika Desai, Rupa Ganguly, Santosh Shukla and others. Contemporary coverage described the show as a large-scale fantasy costume drama combining romance, magic, adventure, political intrigue and warfare.

Shrikant Vishwakarma worked as a Story Writer on the series, collaborating with Shakti Chopra to develop the story. Their work drew upon the traditional narratives and mythology surrounding Hanuman while shaping them into a dramatic television narrative.
